Operating officer

The Pazi Operating Officer is your primary company-level agent. It helps turn a business idea into priorities, coordinates active work, and delegates substantial execution to specialist agents.

Your protected primary agent

Pazi creates the operating officer automatically when your account is created. It is visually distinguished from ordinary agents and cannot be deleted.

You can rename it and change its voice or avatar. Its protected role remains the same: it is the default coordinator for the businesses you own.

What it does during business setup

The operating officer helps you explore ideas and asks focused questions when context is missing. You can keep discussing or researching without starting a business build. When your direction is actionable and you want Pazi to proceed, it records the main goal and first useful outcome, then creates the opportunities needed to move toward that goal.

When you already have a website or brand source, it should prioritize extracting the existing brand and producing or updating the brand artifacts before unrelated work.

Work between conversations

Each active business can use Pazi heartbeat to wake the operating officer on a schedule. It reviews current business context, takes or delegates a useful next action, and emails the owner a concise update.

Coordination versus execution

Use the operating officer for prioritization, tradeoffs, and cross-agent coordination. It can create and update specialist agents, identify opportunities, inspect active work, and call another agent for a durable task.

Long-running research, coding, design, QA, and other specialist work runs through normal sandbox-backed agents. Their results appear in the visible conversation with the specialist's name and avatar, so you can see who did the work.

Opportunity conversations

Started opportunities run independently in the background and return their plans, questions, progress, and results to Main Chat. Open Main Chat from Opportunities or Business Pulse to continue the work.

If a new request overlaps an active opportunity, the operating officer should point you to the existing work instead of creating another agent or duplicate task. It may pause the opportunity for review; resume the same conversation when you are ready.

Ask for a specialist directly

You can ask the operating officer to create a specialist or delegate to an existing agent. Give it the result you need and any reason a particular role should own the work.

Keep the portfolio useful

The operating officer maintains a practical opportunity portfolio rather than an endless idea list. Help it by confirming the primary goal, marking completed work honestly, and pausing or deleting recommendations that no longer matter.

The full plan can contain many opportunities, but only two can be actively starting or running at once. This limit keeps the business focused and prevents duplicate execution.

Permissions and ownership

Business members can collaborate with the business's agents, but owner-only account mutations remain protected. A member's request can start ordinary business work; it cannot silently take over billing or make owner-only account changes.
